What should I Expect From a Life Coaching Session?

According to Google, this is one of the most frequently asked questions about life coaching and one that coaches often struggle to explain succinctly, so I thought I’d try and demystify the process in a creative acrostic manner!

Coaches styles differ depending on their training and expertise but as a Transformative Life Coach my coaching offers you;

 

Positivity; I’ll help you understand what you need and the solutions to get you there. That’s empowering and creates a glorious feeling of positivity.

Enquiry; I will ask you questions, some will be easy to answer, some will be harder but all of them will evolve from our conversation and will help you find clarity.

Attention; you have my full attention for our time together. I will be listening to your words and noting your mood and body language which often says just as much.  

Calm; I create a welcoming space where I encourage you to relax and tell me your thoughts. I’m not here to judge and it’s all confidential.

Exploration; you might feel like you’re waffling, but it’s just your thoughts tumbling out as we explore what’s going on for you. Don’t worry, it’s my job to unpick the waffle.

Focus; we’ll have an overall objective for our partnership and we’ll also discuss the key priority for each session. This can be an action, a task, or it may be to feel a certain way. There’s no right or wrong.

Understanding; we are complex creatures with often complex thoughts and beliefs. I know this and I will offer patience and time. There is no right or wrong answer, I’ll help you find what’s right for YOU.

Liberation; imagine emptying your mind of the thousands of thoughts we have each day and having help to understand them. It’s like sorting laundry; you’ll have neat piles and you’ll know where everything needs to go!

And if we get all of that right, it should lead you to a PEACEFUL experience. One where you are at peace with yourself and with those around you.
