My Story

Hi I'm Helen,

I’m a qualified coach and mum to two teenagers living near Corsham in Wiltshire.

While I've always loved being a mum, a few years ago, I came face to face with the realisation that my professional life was stagnant. I found myself wondering who Helen was beyond the title of 'mum.'

It took a blend of personal loss, the whirlwind of menopause, and the upheaval of 2020 to jolt me into action. After a lot of soul searching and self-discovery I found coaching and realised I’d found my dream job.

My Mission

I’m now on a mission to help mums who’ve spent so long looking after everyone else, they’ve forgotten what they need. I help you to untangle the overwhelm (yep, that constant mental load), make sense of life as the kids grow up and the menopause hits and figure out what brings you joy now- not just what works for the family.

I help you reconnect with your identity-professionally and personally- boost your self-belief and confidence and get excited about the future.

Think of this stage of life as a chance to Reset, not stagnate.

Beyond ‘Mum’

My own journey started on a holiday in France. We’d gone cliff jumping and as the kids and dads dived into the river I wondered why I was still in the boat. I wasn’t pregnant, I didn’t have toddlers to take care of, so why wasn’t I jumping too? Much to the surprise of my family I jumped off the biggest cliff. (It wasn’t graceful but let’s not dwell on that!)

Things didn’t change overnight. I spent a few years going round in circles. I wasn’t unhappy, but I was peri-menopausal and had lost my oomph, beige years.

And then 2020 happened. I lost my dad in the pandemic and I gained a whole new perspective. Life can be taken from you so suddenly; why was I living a beige one? I wanted one full of colour and adventure. I knew something had to change.

“The biggest thing I’ve learnt in the last few years is to be brave. Yes, sometimes it can be uncomfortable, even scary, but if we don’t push ourselves to jump off that cliff, we’ll never know what we’re capable of and the beige wins.”

Qualifications

Fast forward three years and I hold:

  • A Diploma in Transformative Coaching from Animas Centre for Coaching.

Accredited by the International Coaching Federation, Association for Coaching and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

  • BA (Hons) in Sociology

With my life experience, I feel compelled to focus on coaching mums who were like me. Midlife, menopausal, kids becoming more independent, professionally stifled, often feeling invisible and directionless.

My mission now is to guide you to live rich, fulfilling colourful lives, not stagnate in beige. You deserve it.

“I had three sessions with Helen to help me navigate my way to focus on myself after my son finished school. Helen helped me to concentrate on three main areas and remove blocks in all. I feel that the experience with Helen has given me permission to put myself first in my own life. I would highly recommend.”
