The Coffee Network: Community, Support, Connection
The idea
On a rainy day back in April 2023 I was sitting in my home office thinking it would be nice to break up the daily work routine with some conversation with like-minded people without having to log on to a Zoom call. What I really needed was a break from my desk and a coffee with someone local.
I’m Life & Wellbeing coach and I work from home, as does my photographer husband. Sometimes we miss that ‘team’ around us to bounce ideas off or run a problem past. We both have our professional support networks, but no-one locally.
So, having talked it through with a friend who also runs a small business in the village, I started The Coffee Network held at The Pear Tree Inn Whitley near Corsham, Wiltshire, on the last Thursday of every month 10-11am.
Connection
Our aim is to offer an informal space for networking and support for small business owners, remote workers and anyone local who wants to forge new connections. We live in a small Wiltshire village and it’s a close community, so once you know a few people, your network rapidly expands. Our emphasis is on connection, sharing, support and well-being.
We have a wonderfully eclectic mix of people who attend; life coaches, photographers, artists, therapists, jewellery makers, candle makers, massage therapists, alexander technique teachers, yoga teachers, education consultations, virtual assistants, IT consultants and more. We’ve made connections, asked for advice, shared experiences and I’ve always come away feeling buoyed up and supported. Collaborations are being discussed as I type!
Join us
We consistently have 8-12 people attending every month with new faces showing up each time. The event is free, simply grab yourself a coffee from the bar and join us in the Pear Tree snug or garden- depending on the season.
